
American Elm Dining Table with Caviar/Grey Epoxy
This table is built and in our showroom. It can ship same day or be picked up same day. This American elm slab was left un-cut and made into a table top using a style called "encasement." Instead of altering the slab by trimming it or cutting it in half, the whole, original slab is placed in a mold, we add various edge pieces of the same tree along the sides, then encase the top with epoxy. This way, we can achieve a table top that is rectangular and even in proportions using a large slab that is large at one end and smaller at the other end. This is a very artistic way to represent a large, live-edge slab but make a more functional and proportionate table top. The table has been lovingly sanded to 320 grit and then finished in Osmo's very durable satin Polyx hard wax oil. There is a top ceramic coat for extra protection. The metallic pigments used in the epoxy are various dark to light grey metallic pigments and a touch of pearl in color transition areas. The legs are brass and the
