Fallen Winter
Fallen Winter Fallen Winter is a picture of pain and the product of losing something and some people I love. The act of creating this painting was the most I’ve ever experienced art therapy. In a place of transition and heartbreak, I remembered the words a friend once spoke to me after I opened up about the way I was feeling in a time of tragedy. "Jesse, this is where your best art will be made". The production of this piece was a combination of mourning, emotional rawness and violent strokes and splashes of color. It was January, and the frozen pierce of winter had just taken it's grip. Fall is my favorite time of year, and it’s always hard to see it overtaken by the glacier ice of winter. When I finally finished this painting, I was reminded that sometimes the only thing that can make us who we are to become is pain and suffering. And when we accept it with grace and vent our anger constructively against the canvas, it can be made to be something beautiful. Limited
