
Chinoiserie Classic Ginger Jar
I first came under the spell of Chinoiserie when I was at a small town in France on the way to Epernay. This little café going back to the early 1920s had survived the great war, and its walls had been painted in a fine Chinoiserie style in red and black. It has fascinated me ever since and after 20 trips to mainland China – I am a fan of the blue and white style as well. The history of fine china and ceramics go back many centuries to the Xia’s in the BC’s. The mastery and the spread truly came into their own by the time of the Quin dynasty and by the Ming period had become a far-reaching global influence. This Ginger Jar is very impressive to behold, it has the poise and grace of a well-designed piece. Our chinoiserie products are crafted based on traditional production techniques. These techniques result in each piece being unique, and minor variations in the glaze, color tones, and other aesthetic elements are normal.
