Segni di Langa - Gian Luca Colombo Barbera d`Alba Superiore 2022
Our Tasting Note: A deep purple red core, vibrant edges slightly lighter. Med+ nose grows in the glass. Deep blackcherry, blackberry, balsamic, subtle spices, deep but a brightness. The palate shows med/med+ body, good density and elegance, med+ to high intensity and a med+ finish. Coravin new tap so expect this to only grow more with air on the dinner table. The Barbera d’Alba D.O.C. Superiore is a wine with great structure and intensity. The attention to detail is the secret of high quality and concentration from old vineyards and ideal expositions with a ridiculously low production per hectare. The different vineyards are vinified separately and just the best results are used. Vineyards: From 2 sites: Magliano Alfieri (88 y/o vines) just north of Alba and just south of Roagna on SP2. Then from Roddi like the Langhe Nebbiolo from 45-80 y/o vines.Vinification: Maceration with skin contact 22-42 days depending on the vintageMaturation: 9/12 months in big tank of Oak (neutral Austri
