93 pts Kelley - Wine Advocate Bursting with aromas of mint, orange zest, fresh bread, passionflower and quince, the NV Extra-Brut La Loge is medium to full-bodied, pillowy and incisive, with a fleshy and layered core of fruit, racy acids and a long, saline finish. It's produced from 80-year-old Pinot Blanc vines in a south-facing site and derives from a solera spanning the 2011-2018 vintages. Varieties: Pinot Blanc (100%) Dosage: 3g/L Terroir: On a plateau, south-facing, Kimmeridgian soil. Viticulture: Certified sustainable (Ampelos, 1996), selection massale Vinification: A blend of base vintage wine and solera reserve wine going back to 2011. Hand harvested and sorted. Vinified and aged without added SO2. Primary fermentation and malolactic fermentation in tank. Secondary fermentation with cultured organic yeast strains in bottle, aged for 36 months on lattes.
