Domaine Pierre Guillemot Savigny-les-Beaune Dessus les Gollardes 2022
Savigny-les-Beaune Dessus les Gollardes 2022Domaine Pierre Guillemot Jasper Morris Score & Notes 91 Both cépages were planted 1958, the chardonnay apparently from Montrachet cuttings, and the pinot blanc from Domaine Henri Gouges, using three rootstocks fortunately. With a pale colour such as this you don’t expect quite so much fruit weight on the palate. There is a superb thread of acidity through the middle, and a fruit which extends beautifully to the very long finish. Gorgeous wine every yea, and it ages wonderfully well. Drink from 2026-2035. Tasted: October 2023. Kelley on Guillemot 2022s: The irrepressible Vincent Guillemot had every reason to smile as he showed me his family's 2022 portfolio, a range of wines characterized by purity and generosity of fruit. As readers will remember, this seven-hectare estate is rather classical, the reds fermenting in wooden tanks with temperature control, followed by élevage with modest percentages of new wood. Whole clusters increasingly play a role here. The wines are remarkably consistent, surpassing expectations in challenging years and fully delivering in more propitious vintages.
