Bewitched Sampler Bewitched Sampler PDF Digital Download Willow Hill Samplings The Salem Witch Trials of 1692-1693 represent one of the most infamous chapters in early American history. Taking place in colonial Massachusetts, these trials were driven by a climate of fear and superstition. A group of young girls in Salem Village claimed to be possessed by the devil and accused several local women of witchcraft. This led to a series of hearings and prosecutions, resulting in the hanging of 19 people. In our design, we depicted the witches in a more whimsical light, with a moon, black cat, autumn tree, pumpkin and black bird flying through the night sky. We hope that through this simple little design, you remember the true history of the 1692-1693 Witch Trials. The model for this pattern was stitched on 40 count Murky by Picture this Plus.
