ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: Description: Ice Plant, Carpobrotus edulis, is endemic to South Africa but has been naturalized around the world, including in coastal California where I grew up. It is used as a ground cover to stabilize soil around roads and rail tracks but has become an invasive species. In fact, I was part of a team that pulled acres of these plants from an area we were restoring as California Legless Lizard habitat, which was back-breaking work! Also known as the Hottentot Fig, it is one of many endemic succulents from the Cape Floristic Region of southern Africa. Dimensions: 11” x 14” matted and ready to frame Medium: Colored pencil SHIPPING: Price includes shipping. Artwork is sent via UPS and is only available in the continental United States at this time. Each painting is carefully packaged to ensure safety in transit. Please allow approximately 10 days to process your order.
