Ornate Hawk-Eagle
ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: Description: The Ornate Hawk-Eagle, Spizaetus ornatus, is one of the largest and most striking Neotropical raptors. Both males and females bear a crest on their head that can be raised and lowered to show emotions. This painting was inspired by a pair of these birds that I observed at their nest in the mountains of Belize. This species is listed as ‘Near Threatened’ due to habitat loss and hunting. This piece is part of a series I created for a show at the Winter Wings Birding Festival in Klamath Falls, Oregon, where I was the featured artist in 2022. Dimensions: 20” x 26” matted and ready to frame Medium: watercolor SHIPPING: Price includes shipping. Artwork is sent via UPS and is only available in the continental United States at this time.
