ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: Description: The Common Chuckwalla, Sauromalus ater, is a lizard for the American southwest and belongs to the Iguana family of reptiles. They are beefy and up to 20 inches long. Their tail is often quite fat which acts as an energy reserve in lean times. They are docile vegetarians and often dine on desert flowers. This artwork was created as part of a Junior Ranger book I designed and illustrated for Joshua Tree National Park. You can see and download the book for free from my website.
