In 1959 George Nakashima designed his "Origins" line of furniture for Widdicomb of Grand Rapids. This series was produced with extremely high quality using rare woods including carpathian elm, laurel, and rosewood. Additionally, this line contained Nakashima's only fully upholstered pieces. Pieces from the Origins line are exceedingly rare as production was quite brief. This armchair has been totally restored and upholstered masterfully in Alexander Girard Lanalux fabric. Model 296-W Dimensions: 25.25ʺW × 27ʺD × 38.5ʺH Seat Height: 18" Condition Notes: Like new. Fully restored. Frame refinished and waxed. New upholstery.
