C. warscewiczii alba `Firmin Lambeau' FCC/RHS (species) One of the most famous collectable plants of all time. The first discovered alba form of the species. First displayed in 1910 at the Boston Orchid Show by Lager & Hurrell, promptly sold for $5000 to Stuart Low & Co. and hand carried to Europe where it was awarded an First Class Certificate by the Royal Horticultural Society in 1912. When WWI hit Europe, it is said that M. Lambeau left his home with his rosary, a picture of his mother and this plant. In 1933, it is said that the Dixon's bought all five plants from Stuart Low & Co. for $5000 and Coco-Cola stock. And had this quote "After so many years, the most famous plant ever to have come from the hand of God has returned."
