Golden Ginkgo Leaf Ring Dish with Gold Accent

Ginkgo is the oldest living plant species on Earth, described sometimes as a "living fossil"; its beautiful fan-shaped leaves have been on this planet for over 220 million years. Once you see ginkgo, you never forget its unique leaf. In the fall the leaves turn golden yellow and fall to the ground, part of the life cycle of this beautiful leaf This jewelry dish or trinket tray is handcrafted, glazed and fired in my studio, with  handpainted impressions of real ginkgo leaves showing the delicate veined texture of the leaf. This jewelry holder is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The glaze is a soft glossy finish with beautiful natural variations found in a high fired finish. The yellow is bright with orange undertones. A real 22kt gold accent is added to the rim and leaves in a special process for ceramics and the piece is fired a third time in the kiln.This jewelry holder is ha
