A cool winter and a mild spring delayed budbreak, with rains during bloom reducing the size of the 2019 crop. Overall, summer was temperate and even, with fewer-than-normal heat spells, allowing for more hangtime, and the development of great color and optimal sugar/acid balance in the grapes.
