Antique Silver Butterfly Brooch Pin Blue Wings

Is there anything better than a summer day on vacation? Some of my most treasured days have been spent laying in hammock with a good book at the lake shore, listing to the sounds of children playing and being buzzed by dragonflies who linger on my toes, wondering at their shiny red nails. This dragonfly reminds me of those summer days. It is hand crafted in sterling silver and set with the brightest blue wings ever.This type of brooch was often set under the smooth, polished crystal with real morpho butterfly wing, but this one is not. To be honest I’m not completely certain what these wings are made of, I think they may be hand crafted metal of some sort, they are beautiful and very intricate. The brooch measures 34 mm from top to bottom and 57 mm across, it weighs 6.6 grams. This unmarked brooch has been carefully acid tested as sterling silver.
