It is an extrait de parfum, which means that it has a high concentration of perfume oils (40%) and therefore is long-lasting and intense. Jubilation 40 is described as a woody chypre fragrance with top notes of blackberry, blackcurrant, rosemary, labdanum, orange, and davana; middle notes of scotch broom, frankincense, cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf, rose, and celery seeds; and base notes of opoponax, moss, myrrh, patchouli, agarwood (oud), guaiac wood, ambergris, cistus incanus, musk, and cedarwood.
