Brice met Don Sabino in Spring 2017 on one of the early Velodrome sourcing trips. We've bought some of each harvest ever since. Don Sabino has a small farm tucked into an incredible valley surrounded by protected rainforest. He tends to do things the old fashioned way using oxen on his steep farm and used to primarily grow root crops and vegetables before switching to specialty coffee. His careful attention to wet milling and drying really helps create a consistent cup year to year. Through Gold Mountain Coffee Growers, Don Sabino has access to resources such as raised drying beds, harvesting techniques, as well as a market place to help connect his quality coffee to roasters willing to pay a premium.
