Piquenique 'Blue Moon' Cuvee #3 Waldron Island Cider 2020
From the importer: An exciting project from Tess Bryant and Nick Coturri (son of Tony Coturri - OG natural winemaker in Glen Ellen, CA). Piquenique wines/ciders are using local fruit in the San Juan Islands, mostly apples right now, but will include field blends of mixed fruit fermentations in the future. They are total pros, and working absolutely naturally. Very exciting stuff in a remote part of the Pacific Northwest, in part due to their efforts to stay ahead of the curve of climate change, creating new growing areas for winemaking. The Blue Moon cuveés are from the Island of Waldon, where they have to bring the apples back by barge from one farm to their warehouse to process on a larger island. Single Orchard expressions of multiple varietals. Very cloudy, very delicious, 7% cider. An expression of a single orchard.
