Catherine and Pierre Breton 'Bois Guyon' Vouvray 2019

Paul Breton, son of Catherine & Pierre, replanted this plot in 2016 that had been in their family for generations. In 1989 when the family was unable to sell the plot with the stipulation that the plot be farmed organically they decided to re-wild the land. The 2019 is the first vintage after replanting. This wine is slightly bubbly and made as a demi-sec. At the winery we found the sweetness to be charming and not at all cloying. This wine will get better with age and is intended to. There's great acidity here with light refreshing orchard fruit notes and a hint of honeycomb. This would be great as an aperitif with a cheese plate or with savory & sweet meals like yakitori or buffalo wings. Jeremy Hernandez
