Press 4 Mix/White • August 2025 Anna Martí Pitart is making wine at her family's estate in Catalonia. It has existed since 1574, but more recently the family was selling off their wine in bulk instead of bottling it themselves. In the 1990s Anna's father stopped this and began planting historic local varieties. Anna has taken this further, helping the family get organic certification in 2012 and working towards Demeter biodynamic certification. Her father still makes wine and Anna makes her low-intervention, zero-sulfur wines in a separate part of the family cellar. BI Blanco is a blend of 80% Xarel-lo, 10% Macabeu, and 10% Parellada. Vines were planted in 1957 on red clay and gravel. The wine sees no sulfur, no filtering, no added yeast, is fermented in steel and aged in concrete egg.
