Owned by the Arenas family since the 1930’s, the Finca La Perla farm has produced coffee since 1945. It is located in the department of Quiche, in the Cuchumatanes mountains. Many indigenous Mayan people live on the farm itself and just over half work for La Perla. Their coffee has made the finals at the Cup of Excellence in Guatemala 5 times.
