Reflections on Wekiva - Giclée Print

My second plein air session brought me to the banks of the Wekiva River. Here, as in pre-Columbian times, 45 million gallons of spring water flow from the depths of the Florida limestone to the St. John's River daily. My goal was to capture an ages-old tale in the Florida landscape, the interaction between terra firma and flowing water. As young couples paddled along in recreational vessels and families fished on the shore, I spotted a scene that transported me to a time when the water and the land were the only characters in the landscape capable of immutable change.
