Full brown crushed morocco by Florence Foote at the Evelyn Nordhoff Bindery, with boards inlaid with blue morocco about the central panel, upper cover titled in gilt, gilt turn-ins, a.e.g., signed "E.N.B. 1905 F.F." Presentation copy from Henry Van Dyke to Charles W. McAlpin (Secretary of Princeton University, 1901-1914), with his autograph note mounted on the binder’s blank and Van Dyke’s card instructing the bindery, "Please do this for my friend McAlpin". Measures approx. 5.5" x 8.5". Some light sunning to spine. "Florence Foote was a friend and pupil of Evelyn Nordhoff, and was trained at the Doves Bindery [under T.J. Cobden-Sanderson] in 1899, before she became head of the Evelyn Nordhoff Bindery.
