Born in Waco, Texas, he spent most of his childhood in West Texas and New Mexico where his love for the landscape and Western lifestyle including rugged cowboys and Navajo Indians was formed. As a child, he began drawing with colored chalk and eventually painting in water colors, oils and acrylic to become a well known completely self taught artist. After proudly serving in the U.S. Air Force and years working as an auto mechanic and painting in his spare time, he ventured out to pursue art full-time.
