The advantage of the Matte Black Aluminum Storage area over glass is durability.  The matte black color is added to the Aluminum through a process called Type II Hard Anodizing which impregnates the color into the "pores" of the aluminum.  We recommend only the Matte Black Aluminum Bat with this Black Aluminum Storage option.   *Titanium Bats are not recommended for use with Aluminum Storage Area dugouts as Titanium is much harder than Aluminum and can cause damage.
