We selected this exceptional barrel from Yahara Bay Distillers in Madison, WI. Made from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, this straight rye whiskey was matured to perfection over 8 seemingly eternal, absurdly cold Wisconsin winters. Like the people from its’ home state, this whiskey is warm, inviting, fiercely loyal (it will never let you down), and it can drink you under the table any day of the week.    Tasting Notes: Rich and spicy with cinnamon, stewed apples, vanilla custard, dry oak, and light maple undertones This rye immediately blew us away with its depth of flavor, maturity, and restraint, despite the lofty proof (well over the HAZMAT designation of 140!). It is quite simply an unforgettable pour. And at over 8 years, it is one of the oldest craft rye whiskeys we have come across. This is one for drinkers and collectors alike.
