Jamie Levinson by Jamie Levinson Chicagoan Jamie Levinson (half of Levinson/Mahlmeister Duo, whom you might remember from our very first Explorers Series tape) returns to the fold with the physical media debut of a digital only release from earlier this year. Levinson’s solo debut is a winsome, vaguely melancholic affair; its melodies bounce between bubbling, near-nursery rhyme simplicity to dense, oscillating sound poems that might soundtrack a short film. Levinson worked out most of these snippets in headphones amidst his family or while they slept, so the air of quietude hangs heavy, like mist on a lake.
