Minn Kota released the original Riptide PowerDrive saltwater trolling motor in 1987 and kicked off the electric steer era. Almost thirty years later that legacy continues with a full redesign for 2024. The Riptide PowerDrive offers anglers many of the most popular trolling motor features all at an affordable price. This saltwater motor offers performance, reliability and -of course- Spot Lock.  Although the Riptide PowerDrive 55 is Minn Kota's entry-level electric steer motor, it it's got plenty of technology up it's sleeve that you're free to use or free to forget. It's equipped with Minn Kota's Advanced GPS Technology which includes the famous "Spot Lock" and "Auto-Pilot" auto-navigation functions. The Riptide PowerDrive 55 is available with either a full size Advanced GPS remote or you can opt for the model with the smaller Micro Remote which offers basic motor controls along with the two most popular GPS features; Spot Lock and Auto-Pilot. Other features include Advanced Saltwater
