  USDA Certified Organic The Belle de Bruxelles pear is a heritage variety of European origin, with its history dating back to at least the 18th century. While its exact origins are unclear, some experts believe it may have originated in Germany or France. The pear was cultivated in Germany around 1789 and was later well-known in Normandy, France, by the early 1800s. It was planted throughout Europe during the 19th century and found in many private orchards.  White fleshed tender, aqueous, and seedless with a succulent texture. The flesh is often described as somewhat coarse and gritty at the center of the fruit, becoming smoother and buttery just below the skin. Belle de Bruxelles pears have a faint aroma and contain a blend of sweet and sour, floral, and musky flavors.
