Demantoid Garnet Thumbnail Specimens - Fantastic Collector's Pieces (pair of two)

Gems:  Demantoid Garnet Clusters Weight:     3.05, and 1.38 grams Dimensions:22.5 x 14 x 10 mm, and 16 x 9.5 x 7.5 mm Treatments:  none Origin: The Topazolite Mine, Antsakoamanondro, Ambanja, Diana, Madagascar Comments: These garnet crystal clusters are delightful!!  I bought as many as I could when I found them, because you just don't see aesthetic, undamaged clusters of garnets, most of the time.  They are out there, but usually pretty expensive. This pair of two is interesting because the large one is made up of smaller and medium sized crystals, while the small one is composed of a much smaller number of significantly larger individual crystals.  I thought that made for some interesting contrast, and that they'd make a good set.
