This Ridgid 1-1/4″ to 2″ MegaPress End Prep Tool (37988) is part of the Ridgid MegaPress system. It is used to prep black steel pipes before joining them using the MegaPress jaw and ring tool. The End Prep Tool removes imperfections and burrs from the pipe, allowing for a tight and reliable seal upon connection. It is an alternative to traditional flame systems, and does not require hot work permits. It can also be used in a “wet” system.
