On very special one-in-a-billion occasions, they are from our distant neighbor the planet Mars.  Each handcrafted center stone is a totally unique one of a kind creation carved from a larger martian meteorite that was once part of the planet Mars. This Martian meteorite was approved in December of 2020 by the Meteoritical Society's Nomenclature Committee and given the official name Northwest Africa 13366 (NWA 13366).  It was ejected from the plant's surface by an ancient meteorite strike that sent pieces of the planet into space. A very small portion of that ejected material made it to Earth in the form of a martian meteorite.
