On Offer: 2.97g LL7 poikiloblastic chondrite meteorite classified as NWA 17585 Classification: Ordinary Chondrite (LL7) Year found: 2025 Country: Morocco Description: This is an end piece of NWA 17585 LL7, one of my most recent classifications and my first ever LL7. In fact, it's the first 7 of any type I've classified, and was a bit more involved than the many other equilibrated chondrites I've classified in the past.  It is a fully equilibrated and recrystallized poikiloblastic chondrite with discontinuous plagioclase networks and no detectable chondrules. The petrographic designation of 7 is relatively rare, and caps off one end of the 3 through 7 petrologic designation spectrum for chondrites. 3.00 being completely unequilibrated and 7 being completely equilibrated. This meteorite represents all of the remaining mass for this classification, with the remainder being used to make the probe mount for the analysis and classification, as well as the 20g type repository sample which is
