On Offer: 1.05g  Aguas Zarcas Carbonaceous Chondrite meteorite fragment from the April 23rd, 2019 fall in Costa Rica.   Type: CM2 Carbonaceous Chondrite Description: 1.05 gram CM2 Aguas Zarcas meteorite fragment  The meteorite is classified as a CM2 carbonaceous chondrite. This CM2 carbonaceous chondrite is from Costa Rica's recent fall on April 23, 2019 and is arguably the most important meteorite fall since Murchison fell in Australia in Sept 1969. CM2: The "C" designates carbonaceous and the "M" indicates "Mighei-like". The numeral "2" after the CM indicated the level of aqueous alteration. This meteorite was altered by water on its parent steroid. Some researchers even speculate the alteration occurred in the protoplanetary disc even before it was accreted into its parent asteroid. Pretty amazing! The Recovery Expedition: Aguas Zarcas was probably the most exciting and successful meteorite recovery expedition I have ever been involved in. I was fortunate to personally recover app
