2017 Orentano Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley

WINE This 2017 Pinot Noir has a dark rich color with black cherries, raspberries, and blueberries on the nose. On the palate, it’s pleasantly dry with light and very fine tannins. Highlighted flavors are fresh raspberry, strawberry jam and pomegranate with hints of oak and vanilla. This is a full bodied, balanced wine with great mouthfeel. Enjoy with salmon, duck, pork, and mushroom based dishes. WINEMAKER Chris Demetre’s family ties in Napa led him to experience wine, and his passion for winemaking grew as he took courses at Napa Valley College and U.C. Davis. Chris received his BA in Geological Sciences from U.C. Santa Barbara and began his career with Chevron, designing and supervising work on oil rigs. During this time he also continued his education and received an MBA from U.C. Irvine before becoming a manufacturing manager for a biotech company.
