Albuquerque Temple on Sandia Peak: Mountain of the Lord The Mountain of the Lord Temple series. I wanted to make our current temple designs more special, representing more to those who receive them. Throughout my life I've climbed a few mountains, including the Teton Mountain Range. The hike up these majestic mountains is difficult but once on top, the view is spectacular. In a way, you have a glimpse into the perspective of our Heavenly Father, to see the land below stretching out for as far as you can see. When standing upon that elevated ground, everything seems to be at peace. I can see why the prophets of old chose to represent the temple as a mountain top. The journey to the temple, like climbing a mountain, requires a steady pace. It may have switch backs and missteps, and it requires a determination to press forward.
