Two or three days a week I would drive an hour each way for work.  It was a long drive across farmland, almost all of it highway.  Nothing much would happen.   As I drove I would listen to lectures, podcasts, music, whatever.  I would also think and sometimes I would have ideas.  Sometimes these ideas were good, sometimes they were bad, sometimes they seemed good but weren't.  I would try to remember them so I could write them down at the end of my trip, but that seldom worked.
