Every Child Matters

  Every Child Matters is a bright orange shade with subtle shimmer.  I wanted to create something bright that would stand out and be noticed.  This color was created to help bring awareness and light to the lives of each child that was lost in the governments residential schools for Native American children.  Acknowledgement of the wrongs done by the residential school system began in the 1980s. The history of these residential schools has been recently brought to light by Canada and their efforts to search the grounds of their residential schools for the unmarked graves of indigenous children.  This movement started back in 2008 and is finally drawing more attention with the discoveries that were made in May of 2021 and through June of 2021.  As of today, there have been over 1,100 bodies found of indigenous children and that is just the start of the discoveries.  Proceeds from the sale of this color will be donated to an indigenous charity.
