Double Gimp Twist

This gimp thread then has a pair of gimps wrapped around the core giving it a really regular but bumpy texture. This complex gimp is wound continuously onto the spool, and when used, the strand remains undivided, ensuring a uniform texture throughout. Uses of Double Gimp Twist This bumpy thread is a modern recreation of 17th-century examples discovered in period needlework. Its bead-like texture adds a unique surface quality when couched down, whether to create delicate lines or to fill areas.
