A bright cotton candy pink in the glass. Offers fresh aromas of Rainier cherries, pear, toasted hazelnut and slate give an impression of seriousness, but juicy citrus tartness lights up the tongue and cheeks with hints of red raspberry and melon. Rich, full-bodied, yet bright on the palate. The 10% Syrah in the blend lends some peppery tannins toward the close. A deceptively easy drinker! Cases de Pene is a tiny village in the Roussillon region of Southern France, just 30 miles north of the Spain. Ceded to France in the mid 17th century, the area is still known as "French Catalonia". We celebrate this heritage with the Catalan spelling of the ancient Château and village Cooperative: "Penya".
