Monteraponi is an ancient medieval village of Radda. Their vineyards are at an altitude of 1,300-1,600+ feet above sea level. The entire property extends over an area of two hundred hectares set in a natural amphitheater with only twelve planted to vines. They plant only indigenous varieties. The wines are made in a very natural way, aged in large oak, and are neither fined nor filtered. These are thoughtfully made, distinctive wines and some of the best examples of Chianti Classico. Campitello is the more classic to Chianti Classico that draws from the oldest vines of the winery that sits at about 1,400 feet.
