Those were the days when householders didn’t dress up, but handed out handfuls of great candies, Kraft caramels, chips and apples. I learned the ropes quickly! The man on the corner could be counted on for 2 chocolate bars, and the sweet lady around the corner always gave us hot chocolate at the end of the evening. I shivered with anticipation of those dark Halloween evenings when I was allowed out with my friends. What fun to roam the streets lit only by lamplight. Things have changed a bit since then, but the magic of Halloween has only increased.
