Peggy Rock Black, Navajo - basket with Medicine Turtle and Horses design (JM99)

Fabulous perfectly woven basket by noted artist, Peggy Rock Black.  Peggy was born into a family of weavers and then married into the Black family, who are famous weavers as well.  This basket showcases a turtle in the middle surrounded by 13 horses.   DETAILS:Artist: Peggy Rock Black, NavajoCondition: ExcellentSize: 13 1/8" diameter with 24 rods Peggy uses only the traditional used sumac willow, which she harvests and processes. She typically uses natural dyes from local resources to color her baskets.
