This species of Faucaria gets its name from the distinctive jaw shape the leaves form, with long thin teeth growing from the edges. The bright green new growth turns darker green as leaves mature, and older leaves at the base of the clusters can turn pink. The skin of this plant can be smooth and shiny or matte and bumpy depending on growing conditions and season. Faucaria Tiger Jaw blooms in fall to late winter and has a beautiful bright yellow flower, with thin petals reminiscent of a dandelion.  Faucaria is a genus of succulent plants native to South Africa, and is in the family Aizoaceae along with lithops and ice plant. These plants generally grow into large clumps and have triangular, jagged leaves forming opposite pairs, or "jaws".
