
Cranberry Recycled Sari Silk Ribbon Yarn
Super soft and drapey, this earthy color is deep and multi-faceted. I have a North American High Bush Cranberry growing just outside my office windows. I love watching as the berries mature, seeing the color deepen as they ripen. This colorway contains all of those hues (once they're past the green stage:-) Highly saturated and deep (deeper than my camera can pick up - pics are too "red" and bright) yet quite earthy in its own right, this one has everything from a wine, tomato, ruby and even a truer red in there. Every skein is one of a kind because of the over-dyeing. Sari Silk Ribbon is made in India by women working through Fair Trade. They take what would otherwise be silk waste, from cutting sari silk for wraps and clothing, and sew the pieces end to end, occasionally tying ends, to make beautiful ribbon yarn.
