Gröbner St. Magdalener DOC 2017, Cantina Kaltern , Alto Adige
Varietal: Lagrein/Schiava(Vernatschia) Kaltrensee Cassico form Single Vineyard. Origin: age of wines -30-50years. The St. Magdalener from Alto Adige is mainly made using the autochthonous Schiava grape. It is considered relatively full-bodied and therefore the strongest wine in the large Schiava family. Vinification : Both varieties grow together in the same vineyard, so they were also cropped and vinificated together; mash fermentation in stainless steel tanks; storage in big wooden casks for up to 16 months. Tasting notes: Dark ruby red, fine fruity notes recalling sour cherry; full body with typical subdued notes of almond, pleasant and long lasting aftertaste; well paired with light mediterranean dishes and white meat.
