Groundcover that forms a dense mat of glossy evergreen leaves. The stems root along the ground. Bell-shaped pink flowers appear in spring, followed by a showy display of scarlet berries. Foliage turns a beautiful bronzy-red in winter, particularly in colder regions. Dislikes poorly-drained clay. Drought tolerant, once established, salt tolerant. Deer resistant. Attracts birds, hummingbirds, and other pollinators.
