AKA Hercules Club. Coarsely textured shrub or small tree with large compound leaves and stout thorns on clubby stems. Large clusters of showy white flowers appear in late summer at the top of the plant. The coarse quality of foliage and stems can create unusual or tropical effects in the landscape. Flowers and fruit attracts birds, butterflies and other pollinators.
