The Gaucamayo was inspired and specially created for strong leaders of the Yawanawa tribe in the Brazilian rainforest that our brand owner created a few special pieces while on her trip to their land and home. The feathers of the Gaucamayo are sacred and represent many spiritual aspects for the yawanawa and many tribes ranging from areas all over South America to Mexico and even into the lives of tribes living in the lower states of North America.  For many of the tribes of Central and South America, they believe the macaw brings healing through color and light. The macaw is also considered a valuable part of the vitality of the forest - as they forage fruits and nuts and then drop seeds through their excrement they assist in propagating life in the forests.
