Trail of gold

   Our Trail of Gold sacred hair wrap is inspired by the symbolism of Mud cloth print and history.    Mud cloth traditionally worn by hunters as ritual protection has a beautiful history or origins. Its first origins come from the Mali empire of west Africa. A king of the Mali empire whose name was Mansa Musa traveled on a pilgrim and stopped in Cairo and gifted the Egyptians Gold while there on his stay. He generously gave the leader of Egypt gold throughout his stay there. Mansu Musa was one of the wealthiest kings of west Africa at the time of his ruling .       The pilgrimage he took was one of generosity and good intentions as he gave out gold to every city he visited until he had no more. The merge of west Africa and Egypt is a powerful trail of history that grew the Egyptian kingdoms, West African origin that existed there from at least 3200BC. The diversity that created the kingdoms is a beautiful expression of a time of trade, migration and the emergence of civilizations.
